Thank you to everyone who attended The 2nd Annual Melanated Growers Conference September 20-22 in Jacksonville, Florida ! Your presence, purchases, networking, donations, and volunteerism made it all possible.
Mission:
To increase food security in urban areas through planting community gardens, offering educational programming on gardening and other aspects of agriculture, and teaching people of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities the art and science of growing food and medicinal herbs.
Who We Are:
We are a collective of growers—gardeners, farmers, and learners who are dedicated to improving communities by teaching self-sufficiency through agriculture.
What we do:
-
We fight food insecurity by planting community gardens in areas that do not have easy access to fresh produce, known as food deserts.
-
We introduce educational programming on gardening, farming, and other aspects of agriculture, such as soil health, innovative growing methods, and integrated pest management.
-
We have monthly meetups to support community events and programs that promote healthier communities through all aspects of life-mind, body, and soul.
